Senior Veterinarian - Dr. Nori (Norikata Yanai)

Experience & Expertise

Dr. Nori graduated from the University of Sydney in 2005. Following graduation, he completed an internship at the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Sydney, where he worked alongside specialists and trained students. He obtained his Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Clinical Studies in 2008.

Upon returning to Hong Kong, he worked in group practices and held management roles. During his time with the SPCA, he was deployed to assist with animal rescue missions near Fukushima following the 2011 Japan earthquake and tsunami. Beyond general medicine and surgery, Dr. Nori has a special interest in Dentistry. Although originally from Japan, he is fluent in English, Japanese, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

医学と動物の両方に接する仕事に憧れ２００５年にシドニー大学卒業。学生時代は動物看護士や農場で家畜動物の世話の仕事をしていました。卒業後はシドニー大学動物病院で研修医として小動物臨床学の訓練に参加。専門医の下で最先端の治療の勉強、一般診療勤務、学生の指導等幅広い任務が要求される仕事だったが２００８年に大学院獣医臨床学課程を取得。

その後幼い頃に育った香港に移り、勤務医としてペットセントラル動物病院グループに入社。２０１０年に１年間香港動物愛護協会付属動物病院で動物福祉に重点を置く治療に関する知識を高め、東日本大震災発生後は日本動物福祉協会と協力して被災地に派遣。その後ペットセントラルに戻り、ノースポイント病院院長となる。

海外生活が永く幼い頃から言語に興味が有る為、英語・日本語・普通語・広東語で飼い主とコミュニケーションが出来る香港で充実した生活をしつつ飼い主一人一人に家族の一員であるペットに最適の治療を提供したいと思います。興味分野は歯科。趣味は旅行及びスクーバーダイビング。 [web:91][web:103]

Background & Story

Dr. Vivian was born and raised in Hong Kong. During her veterinary studies at the University of Edinburgh, she spent her summer holidays interning at various veterinary clinics in Hong Kong to gain practical experience. After graduating in 2013, she returned to Hong Kong to practice, working in a 24-hour clinic handling emergency and general cases before joining the Petcore team.

Outside of work, Dr. Vivian is a devoted dog lover, spending most of her free time with her two long-haired Dachshunds.

• Clinical experience in small animal clinics and shelters in New York
• Returned to Hong Kong in 2012, practicing general medicine and acupuncture

Background & Story

Dr. Beava obtained her DVM from the University of Illinois (USA). Before returning to Hong Kong, she worked in small animal clinics and shelters in New York. Since her return in 2012, she has focused on integrating Western and Eastern medicine to provide holistic care for her patients.

She lives happily in Hong Kong with her husband, three children, three adopted cats, and one dog. An active individual, she enjoys cycling, running, rowing, and camping in her spare time.
