Veterinary Acupuncture is commonly used to manage pain, neurological conditions, and chronic diseases. The goal is to reduce reliance on medication, improve mobility, and stimulate the body's self-healing mechanisms.
Arthritis, hip dysplasia, Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), and chronic pain following soft tissue injuries.
Hind limb weakness, rehabilitation for paralysis, adjunctive control for seizures, and support for nerve damage recovery.
Chronic kidney disease, gastrointestinal sensitivity (vomiting/diarrhea), poor appetite, and constitution balancing for certain skin conditions.
Enhancing overall vitality, sleep quality, and comfort for senior pets, often as part of palliative care. [web:81]
Dr. Beava believes in a "Holistic Approach," treating the whole patient rather than just a single symptom, while considering the pet's emotional state and living environment. As a dual-qualified general veterinarian and acupuncturist, she ensures that acupuncture is introduced safely as a complementary therapy based on accurate Western medical diagnosis, avoiding delays in treatment and optimizing recovery chances.
If you are interested in knowing whether acupuncture is suitable for your pet, or to check Dr. Beava's consultation schedule, please call the clinic during office hours to book an assessment.
*Note: A detailed physical examination and medical history review are typically required before the first acupuncture session to formulate an individualized treatment plan.
